Bioethics and sociology: the place of social studies of science and technology

The social sciences have integrated the analytical and normative practices of bioethics. However, with some exceptions, proposals been epistemically limited to methodological scope strictly directed biomedical care practices. Taking data on strategies production new drugs by pharmaceutical industry, this essay intends demonstrate possible contributions studies science technology a theoretical-methodological foundation bioethical analyzes around global health issues, such as distribution technologies. We conclude that at least three types would benefit from proximity: epistemological integrity sciences; ethical-political access security old technologies; ethical-philosophical harmful attitudes scientific community professionals in relation care.
